Welcome to the PGTS Blog!

PGTS was formally incorporated in 2008, but its roots run deep, tracing back to a sole proprietorship and an inspiration from 1983. An article I read sparked my journey, leading to a BAH in the history of Core-Periphery Trade Patterns and a Master’s in International Political Economy and Business from Carleton University’s Norman Patterson School of International Affairs.

Since then, my career has centered on crafting international business solutions, bridging public and private sector stakeholders, and undertaking business development and operational roles in over 50 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Throughout my journey, I found myself at the heart of evolving trade and economic development trends, navigating the commercial pressures of crafting and executing successful international business strategies.

This blog fosters dialogue among public and private stakeholders interested in global business development. It will feature brief posts that bring theoretical and academic discussions “off the page” and into real-world markets, including Kenya, South Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, the UK, Turkey, Ethiopia, Dubai, Costa Rica, and Barbados.

Our discussions and observations will be categorized into the following broad areas:

  • International Business Strategy and Management
    • PESTLE (Political, Economic, Social, Trade, Legal, Environmental) Considerations: Cross-Cultural Management and Operational Considerations
    • Supply Chain Management and Locational Considerations
  • International Operations
    • International Law and Contract Management Trade Finance Considerations
    • Thinking Globally and Acting Locally

You are invited to contact us regarding the project profiles and to propose topics of interest for future blog posts or for more formal engagements. Let’s create a vibrant and insightful dialogue about global business development. (wilson.pearce@outlook.com).
